Welcome to DVD 2010

DVD is Defence Equipment and Support’s (DE&S) annual stakeholder event for the Land Equipment and Joint Support Chain communities, together with the Air Commodities team.

“Defence’s main effort is the fight in Afghanistan and no parts of DE&S contribute more obviously to that campaign than the Land Equipment and Joint Support Chain represented at DVD. We must continue delivering the excellent new equipment previously seen at DVD and to improve it year on year. DVD is an essential part of our support to current operations since it concentrates the MoD customer and the Industry supplier together in a way that is just not possible in an office environment. The exchange of ideas which this event generates will enable us to continue providing the best possible equipment and support to our armed forces. DVD is a unique and important part of the defence calendar and I anticipate another valuable event this year”

Bringing together the armed forces, accredited defence industry with the acquisition community, DVD provides a unique opportunity to learn about, discuss and experience the equipment and support that is critical to the success of the UK’s armed forces.

Held on 23 and 24 June at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire, it is organised by DE&S, which is the part of the MOD responsible for equipping and supporting the UK's armed forces for current and future operations.

Last year's hugely successful event attracted authorised visitors from across the defence community, with over 320 small, medium and large companies displaying equipment, systems and services including protected mobility and general support vehicles, tented accommodation, clothing, medical supplies, fuel and test equipment.

This year sees Land Equipment’s Individual Capability Group (ICG) making DVD its stakeholder event with a particular emphasis on the creation of the Integrated Soldier System Executive (ISSE) Team which is responsible for developing the Soldier System Architecture for the 2020 vision of the soldier.
